    • Steven Paul Jobs (San Francisco, 24 februari 1955[1] – Palo Alto, Californië, 5 oktober 2011[2][3]) was medeoprichter en topman van Apple Inc. (vroeger Apple Computers) en behoorde tot de raad van bestuur van Pixar Animation Studios. (Hij was eerder CEO van Pixar totdat The Walt Disney Companydeze studio in 2006 overnam). Hoewel hij een symbolisch salaris van één dollar per jaar verdiende, was hij met aandeleninkomsten van 646,6 miljoen dollar (2006) de meestverdienende directeur in de VS.[4]

      Steve Jobs wordt beschouwd als pionier van de computerindustrie. Nadat hij bij Xerox op het Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) een demonstratie zag van de grafische gebruikersomgeving met vensters en muis, nam hij deze interface op in de Apple Lisa, die erg duur was en slecht verkocht en vrij snel opgevolgd werd door de Apple Macintosh. Hij was verder ook de drijvende kracht achter de ontwikkeling van Mac OS X.

      A sad day. A man that changed the way we live our daily life, a living legend, now enters the great hall of fame. I don't even dare to think of all the revolutionary products we will miss, because of his untimely death.
      But very grateful of the products he did give to the world.
