Dear Friends,

It is a Sad News.
I never have had the Words in French for this kind of things so I’ll not be much better in English.
But Daniel was really one of us. Not just a member of the board because of a national election and having paid the fees.
No, this Man did the job we needed, was able to go at War in necessary, to get fun when possible and to go everywhere it was useful or friendly. Even if He was ill.
He was someone I’m proud to have been one of his colleagues and perhaps, I hope, a little bit a Friend.

In my personal Name and for/from FECIF, I would like to express our best and friendly thoughts to his family.

I am so sad to hear this news. I didn’t know Daniel well but he was most helpful to me recently when probably he should have been spending his time on other things. I asked him a question about the FSMA’s Mifid style approach re commissions and he sent me a highly detailed reply which must have taken some time to compile.

We should definitely raise a glass to him when next in Monaco, I think he would like that.

Martin and I are also deeply saddened by the news of Daniel´s passing.
With Daniel not only have we lost a tremendous asset to the FECIF family, but also a great friend.
Courage is grace under pressure, Hemingway once wrote. The poise and grace with which Daniel faced his medical condition is an extraordinary example of courage that we can all take lesson from. The last time we met with Daniel in Monaco, he was exuding so much happiness and even against such adversary, he was able to inspire us with positive thinking and confidence. He will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who share in his loss, his friends, his colleagues at BZB and especially his family.
Rest in peace Daniel.
